History of Eagle Bluff
The Eagle Bluff Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast  is located in the area of Prince Rupert known as Cow Bay. When Prince Rupert was the “Halibut Capital of the World” fish were sold through the Halibut Exchange formerly next door! The Eagle Bluff Lighthouse is visible from the museum and visitor information center, and is located next to the Government Wharf.

Over the past years many of the buildings in the Cow Bay area have been renovated as boutique shops, local art galleries, coffee shops, restaurants and a neighbourhood pub, although still mixed with marine waterfront services.
location

Eagle Bluff Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast has seven guest rooms, with five having en suite bathrooms .and two which share a full bathroom. The second storey family room accommodates up to seven persons, and all guests can share the guest kitchen and common area. A common deck circles the buildings, from which children sometimes fish and guests can barbecue.

Enjoy a full breakfast with a view from our second floor dining room, between 5 am and 9 am. Relax outside on the deck and enjoy the view, or use the barbecue to prepare your own dinner. Complimentary tea and coffee are available to our guests. Our services are  ideal for reunions, workshop or business retreats.

Prince Rupert is situated along the shores of the third largest natural ice free harbour in the world.  Prince Rupert is the northern terminal of the BC Ferry from Vancouver Island, departure by ferry west to the Haida Gwaii Islands, and the southern terminal for the Alaska Marine Highway. We are also serviced by VIA rail which goes across Canada to Canada’s east coast. The route from Vancouver to Prince Rupert and then by ferry to Vancouver Island and back to Vancouver is a very popular circle route with visitors. We are serviced two – three times daily by Hawk Airlines and Air Canada Express. By vehicle one can travel to and from Alaska on the Cassiar Highway, and on  Highway 16 from Prince Rupert across Canada. In fact, the route from Smithers B.C. to Prince Rupert is recognized as one of the most scenic in the world. Take time for a short detour to the Nishga Lava Park on  Highway 37A  north of Terrace BC.

Prince Rupert was once known as as the “halibut capital of the world” and is still a very active fishing community.
